All That Glitters Is Not Alight

This is the final section of the stop frame animation. It show me sprinkling the stage with gold glitter...when the glitter has settled you can see I use my finger to write the word ALIGHT into the gold glitter. 

Pushing Down The Last Podium

This part of the footage shows me removing the guitar character and pushing down the final podium in preparation for the Alight finale.

Taking Off The Podiums

Here is the part where the hand takes the band characters off the podiums. It was quite difficult to film it and be the person taking the characters off but I think I have done alright. This part also shows the me lowering the back podium ready for the final section. 

Outtake Of The Band On Stage

This is the outtake of the band on stage. I tried to get a zooming effect which proves very difficult in stop motion. It was my first attempt at the band part so I'm quite please and think it'll look really effective when filmed directly.

Band On Stage

This is the first part where the band are placed onto the podiums. I have used myself as the guitarist and my sister as the singer. This part of the video shows me placing both characters onto the podium and watching them play for a short time.

Glitter Unite

Here I have adapted from my original unite idea with the sugar strands. The sugar strands proved too heavy for the job as it was difficult to manipulate them to where I wanted them. Here I have created the word unite...then blown its away towards the centre. I have then reversed this to make it look like the glitter is gathering to form the word UNITE.

ARISE

Here is another section of the video completed. This part, again filmed in stop motion, shows one of the sections of the Arise, Unite, Alight. I have used my sisters hand to mark out the words arise as I take individual shots. I have then used photoshop to digitally put in the word ARISE.

UNITE take one - FAIL

To tackle the task of the UNITE being thrown into the background behind the band I have decided it'll be easier to film it the opposite way around in stop frame and reverse it when on the computer. I have created the word UNITE using sugar strands. I then set up two cameras. One recording and one taking individual photographs. I used a hairdryer to move the sugar stands over to the right hand side. However being stupid half way through I realised that my hand holding the hairdryer was in view of the shot :( 

Raising The Podium

I have competed the first part of the animation. This bit shows the hand raising the podium on which the band members will be placed.
